Suthida Wongwichit

Retired civil servant, Nonthaburi

"I had been sitting with my pension statement for several months without understanding it. A colleague suggested I get a legal review done. The written summary I received from Anurak Law clarified things I had been confused about for a long time. It was straightforward and I did not feel rushed to do anything further."

Prasert Thongchai

Former teacher, Chiang Mai

"My pension figure had dropped compared to the previous year and I could not find a clear reason in the paperwork. The reassessment preparation service sorted out what I needed to submit. It took a few months for the office to respond, which they warned me about from the start. The outcome was a correction in the figure. I appreciated that they kept me updated without me needing to follow up constantly."

Manee Kaewkham

Retired administrator, Bangkok

"My daughter helped me contact Anurak Law after my pension application was refused the first time. The appeal process felt overwhelming when I read about it myself. They took care of the documentation and correspondence. I did not have to attend any hearings in person, which was a relief at my age. The appeal was resolved after about three months."

Charun Leelapatr

Retired engineer, Rayong

"I wanted someone to read through my pension statement before I retired formally. The review was completed within ten days and the written summary was clear. There was nothing alarming in the statement, which was good to know. I had a few questions after receiving the summary and they answered them without any issue."

OP

Orawan Phromchai

Widow of civil servant, Bangkok

"After my husband passed, I had to deal with the pension office on his behalf and found the process difficult to navigate alone. I contacted Anurak Law and they walked me through which service applied to my situation. The reassessment preparation was the right fit. The process was slower than I hoped, but I understood that was on the government side. I felt supported throughout."

Niran Khongthon

Retired doctor, Khon Kaen

"I used the statement review service to check whether my pension had been calculated correctly before making decisions about supplementary savings. The review was thorough and the summary explained the calculation method in a way I had not seen before. It turned out there was a small discrepancy, which led to a reassessment. That was handled cleanly too."

Case Studies

A closer look at three situations

These accounts are illustrative of the types of cases we handle. Names are not used and identifying details have been changed.

Case 1 — Statement review that identified a calculation gap

Situation

A retiree in her late sixties received her first pension statement after leaving the civil service and could not reconcile the monthly figure with what she had expected based on her service length.

What we did

We conducted a full review of the statement, cross-referenced it against the applicable calculation rules, and prepared a plain-language written summary. The review took eleven days from receipt of documents.

Outcome

The review identified a period of service that had not been included in the calculation. This led the client to proceed with a reassessment request, which resulted in a revised and higher monthly figure.

Case 2 — Reassessment following an office error

Situation

A retired school principal received a pension figure that appeared to be based on a lower salary grade than the one he had held at retirement. He had been putting off querying it for over a year.

What we did

We gathered his employment records and salary documentation, prepared a formal reassessment request, and submitted it to the relevant government office. The process took approximately four months from submission to response.

Outcome

The office confirmed the error and issued a corrected calculation. The revised monthly figure reflected the correct salary grade, and a partial back-payment was also included.

Case 3 — Successful appeal following initial refusal

Situation

An applicant in his early sixties had his pension application refused on the grounds of incomplete contribution records, despite having contributed for the required period.

What we did

We reviewed the refusal letter, identified the specific records cited as missing, located the original contribution evidence from employer records, and submitted a formal appeal with supporting documentation. Representation took approximately three months.

Outcome

The appeal was upheld. The client was granted the pension he had applied for, backdated to the original application date.

If something in your pension position feels unclear

A statement review is often a practical first step. It does not commit you to anything further and gives you a clear written record of where things stand.
